Pink's Hot Dog - LA Hot Spot

Confession: I am an LA native, and this was the FIRST time I had Pink’s – America’s Top Hog Dog and Hollywood Legend since 1939.

“You’ve NEVER had Pink’s Hot Dog?!!”

I knowww, shame on me. But honestly, I never tried Pink’s because, #1: I’m not a big fan of hot dogs and #2: because they’re so popular, the line is usually long. I’m glad I finally decided to give them a try, though. The food is delicious and the service is fast and efficient! Since I was in the mood for a burger, I decided to try the Bacon Chili Cheese Burger with a side of onion rings.

LA Nights at #PinksHotDog 😜

Two words, HUGE & DELICIOUS. The burger had just enough chili and just enough cheese. I’m serious about my cheese y’all, so I hate it when restaurants don’t proportionate the chili and cheese correctly. Pink’s got it right! The burger was meaty and fulfilling. The only thing I added was mustard. I add mustard to ALL my burgers, especially to chili cheeseburgers/hot dogs. It’s a thing I picked up from my mom. It gives the chili an extra pop of tang! Trust me on this one and give it a try. Chili cheese burgers tend to get messy, but Pink’s burger wasn’t sloppy at all. A plus for me!

Did you know?

Pink’s is a Hollywood landmark visited by Celebrities, Public Figures and Fans all over the U.S.? It’s definitely a Los Angeles hot spot! The restaurant named many of their hot dogs after celebrities and places in LA. “Celebrity/LA inspired hot dogs” include the Martha Stewart Dog, Chef’Emeril Legasse ‘Bam Dog’ and of course the Mulholland Drive Dog. Sooooo L.A. 🙂

According to the restaurant, the most popular item at Pink’s is a 12″ inch jalapeño dog called the El Mandril Dog. It’s topped with grilled onions, guacamole, lettuce, tomatoes, jalapeños, and bacon. Other menu options include the Philly Cheese Steak Dog, Bacon Burrito Dog and the Jaws aka ‘The BIG One,’ a grilled Polish dog on top of a hamburger patty, layered with bacon, chili cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, and mayo. Expect a variety of options at Pink’s to fit your hunger needs! Turkey burgers and vegan dogs are also available for non-beef eaters.

Overall, I was pleased with the Pink’s experience and will visit again to try other tasty options. Delicious meals at an affordable price? What more can you ask for???
