Making time to workout and preparing healthy meals can be a challenge for those of us with busy lives. Many times we neglect our nutrition because we are always on the go and end up eating something we shouldn’t. So I like to keep it simple and easy. I meal prep! Meal prepping is basically preparing your meals at the beginning of the week so you don’t have to worry about cooking your lunch and/or dinner everyday. Therefore, allowing you more time to concentrate on fitness and carrying on with your daily activities. But, sometimes life gets even busier and the same meal everyday can get repetitive and boring, so I like to change it up with pre-packed meals from Trader Joes. And this week it’s….

You may be thinking, “Salads? Really?” But yes, really! It’s a great way to get your daily dose of hearty greens and trust me, these salads are not boring! Each of them have their own unique flavors, are very fulling and satisfying and most importantly, healthy. None of Trader Joe’s salads, including the meat and the dressings, contain synthetic colors, artificial flavors or preservatives, added trans fat, MSG or genetically modified ingredients. For example, their creamier dressings, like ranch is even made with yogurt instead of mayo to cut down on the fat and cholesterol. Sounds weird? Kinda. But trust me, you won’t be able to tell the difference. And if you don’t want salads, they offer additional items like sandwich wraps, spring rolls and sushi. It’s great way to start a meal plan and it give you ideas on what to create next. So instead of thinking, “Ugh another salad,” you can now get excited about trying different foods, focus on fitness and best of all, staying healthy. Til next time…
